Ghost In The Machine –  part of a current exhibition at New York’s Joseph Gross Gallery by artist Ted Lawson, who attached himself intravenously to a CNC machine, supplying his own blood as ‘ink’ to print a life size nude portrait of himself.

The term ‘selfie’ doesn’t quite do the thing justice.

Ukraine-Crisis-The-Theories-Involved
…and West is, well, you know….

Raúl Ilargi Meijer of The Automatic Earth writes:

No NATO territory is under threat of being violated, other than inside the narrative. Moreover, while voices in Europe increasingly claim that the threat to Ukraine is a threat to Europe (i.e. the EU), Ukraine is no more an EU member than it is a NATO member. Brussels seems to want it to be, but that’s where the narrative ends. So it’s simply being changed on the fly and has now become: “Ukraine is fighting a war on behalf of all Europe”, according Lithuanian leader Dalia Grybauskaite.
Which is where I think: really, Ukraine has killed over 2000 of its own citizens ‘on behalf of Europe’?

Domhnall Gleeson, whose resemblance to Mark Hamill had many theorizing a Skywalker generational line, is not playing Luke’s kid. Luke has no kids. He’s been a captive since we last saw him.

I’m starting to feel weird about Skelling Michael Island, that pretty place in Kerry, Ireland where they filmed a few days in late July with Mark Hamill and probably Daisy Ridley. I’m starting to feel weird about it because they’re going back to shoot there in November – local vendors have already been contracted out. And November in Kerry does NOT look like late July in Kerry, this landscape will be grey and dark…
…
I’m hearing Skellig Michael Island is the location for the Sith Homeworld. Like in the Expanded Universe, the Sith were founded by a Jedi who practiced moral relativism thousands of years ago (a long LONG time ago in a galaxy far, far away). He met up with Plagueis and started going by the Sith name Darth Ruin. He split off to unite the Sith tribes under the Dark Side of The Force. I don’t know if all of that is going to be in the movie, but it’s going to get called back as we’ll have a new Ruin in the movie, whomever fancies himself the biggest threat (might this be my “Sith Inquisitor?”).

“Now, we at LR know that the Sith Homeworld was in the re-tooled Michael Ardnt draft of the script, so this next part might be old info we’re getting pushed back at us, but: Skellig Michael Island is the Sith Homeworld, the stone hut ruins on that island are a control center and the planet itself is somehow the weapon.“

Garda whistleblower John Wilson

In yesterday’s Sunday Times, Gemma O’Doherty reports that former Garda John Wilson still hasn’t received his ‘certificate of service’ even though he left An Garda Síochána 15 months ago – after 30 years of service.

From the report (not online):

“For any garda, your certificate of service is your reference,” Wilson said. “The first thing an employer looks for is a reference but because I do not have one, I am unable to apply for work. I urgently need a job. I have a family to look after and am under serious financial pressure. I requested mine more than a year ago and still haven’t got it. I feel I am being penalised.”

That petty.
